Graduate Assistant for Programming – Grand Valley State University

Grand Valley State UniversityAllendale, MIGraduate

The Office of Student Life at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI is hiring two graduate assistantships for the 2026-2027 academic year! The Programming Graduate Assistants will work closely with the Campus Activities Board (CAB), a team of undergraduate student leaders who design and implement large-scale, high-impact social programming for the GVSU community. Our signature events include Silent Disco, Homecoming, Haunted Library, Presidents’ Ball, and the annual Spring Concert, along with dozens of smaller programs throughout the year.

This assistantship is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, student leadership development, advising, assessment, and collaboration across campus; all while working closely with a passionate, creative team of student leaders and professional staff.

Graduate Assistants in the Office of Student Life have the unique opportunity to work in an office with multiple functional areas, providing a wide range of transferable experience across program areas. Our Graduate Assistantships are 20-hour-per-week positions, contracted for ten months, providing graduate students with a tuition waiver covering 21 credit hours per academic year (9 Fall, 9 Winter, 3 Spring/Summer) and a stipend of $14,000.

Graduate Assistantships can be enrolled in any graduate program at Grand Valley State University, although preference will be given to students enrolled in the Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration program.
